Many cities have passed resolutions calling for a permanent ceasefire and are committed to a future where all Israelis and Palestinians live together with safety in freedom, which extends from the Holy Land to America. Find out if your hometown is among them and which community leaders, organizations, and legislators were involved in and get to know their work. These groups and people are also likely to be on the frontlines to protect the environment, reproductive rights, women, the LGBTQ community, immigrants, housing, education equity, working-class families, and more. Join them!

Find a local political club—this is vital in a presidential election year where the future of democracy may be on the ballot again AND what’s happening in Israel/Palestine has deeply impacted anti-war voters already as we’ve seen with the results of the Presidential Primary Elections across the US. Did your state participate in an Uncommitted, Leave it Blank, or No Preference campaign? If so, what are the margins and what does this tell you about November and how you want to participate?

These actions may or may not be easy, but it is imperative that you join something. The majority of the US, according to a Gallup survey, disapprove of Israels actions against Gaza. The Palestinian death toll has risen to over 35k, with over 13k of them children. The remaining hostages have not been released, and it was only during a temporary ceasefire that hostages were released.

Continue to speak out for justice and lasting peace. Because of the way many of our leaders are using divisive language and pitting communities against one another, our communities are on the receiving end of antisemitic, Islamophobic, anti-Palestinian violence and harm. We have a responsibility to step up with compassion and extend empathy even when it may be uncomfortable and hard.
